Research Statement

My research interests include disordered eating, exercise dependence, body image dissatisfaction, REDs in athletes, exercise adherence/enjoyment, and supplementation. My prior research experience focused on examining supplementation (magnesium and caffeine) on exercise performance and muscle soreness, as well as examining exercise enjoyment/adherence using virtual live exercise. Recently, I examined the prevalence of disordered eating, exercise dependence, body dissatisfaction, and injury risk in trail runners and CrossFit athletes. My future research will focus on examining REDs symptoms, eating disorders, and body dissatisfaction in other sport-specific populations. Ultimately, by conducting this research, my hope is to contribute new, warranted knowledge to the field as well as complement my professional career.
