Nutrition for Sport Performance

As a former collegiate track and field thrower and current sports dietitian, I understand the demands of being an athlete while managing work, school, life, etc. Not to mention the pressure athletes face from their coaches, teammates, and society to be the “perfect” athlete.

Throughout my athletic career, I spent my time focusing on trying to shrink my body instead of giving my body the energy it needed to perform well. My goal for athletes is to focus on fueling their bodies to support their training and recovery instead of depriving them.

I also know the transition to life after athletics can be a challenging time in trying to find enjoyable movement, what to do with your time, and balancing everyday life.

As a non-diet sports RD, I focus on helping current or former athletes develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise, while still meeting fueling recommendations.
